First of all, I would love to give a huge thanks to people who have expressed concern over my safety from the earthquake in Japan occured on March 11.
March 11th, 2011...I still clearly remember that day. I did feel the quake from where I was even though i was far away from the center of the quake.
When the quake occured, I was working at clothing store in Jiyugaoka, Tokyo talking to customers. It was like large gentle waves rocking the building. At first, I thought I was just dizzy, then it went on and on and on...I could barely stand during the quake and when it was over, I know for sure a major earthquake had occured somewhere.Fortunately, neither I nor people around me didn't get injured or anything from the quake.
It has been 9 days since the quake happened...and yea it is really devasting...more found dead, more missing, plus the nuclear plant accident...I just can't helping asking unanswerable question. "what did our people do to deserve that?
I just don't know how we are supposed to comprehend all that is happening...how we are supposed to see all this in positive light. I know it is nobody's fault, we cant make the quake stop...but the consequence is just too devasting. I know asking "why did that happen" is not going to change anything, so we would rather think about what we can do to make things better. And I know that is what the disaster suffers will do. We may be in a state of shock now, but eventually we will stand up, take constructive steps forward, and rebuild our lives.
But at this point, when i am finding out more and more about the overwhelming destruction, I cant help wondering "why?" And the more I wonder, the clearer it is that there is no answer. Nothing we can do about it. We have to move on.
There is a lot of small things what we can do for the people up north: giving blood, donating time and money to relief organizations we trust, sending our prayers, conserving energy, etc...
And lots of countries have been sending their rescue teams and so many encouraging, heartwarming messages from all over the world have been sent to Japan. It just touches not only me but a bunch of people's heart.
I just hope that rescures up there work really hard and save people's lives as many as they can. I know it will take long time, but we will stay strong, get through this!! Now is the time to show our Japanese spirits to the whole world!!!
Peace out:)
